Somat Engineering, Inc is pleased to announce that Senior Staff Engineer, Jane Abadir, P.E., has achieved LEED accreditation from the United States Green Building Council. This certification recognizes Ms. Abadir as an accredited professional with a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System. Ms. Abadir is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan, with six years of engineering experience. She has a Masters of Science in Construction Material Engineering from the American University in Cairo, Egypt. At Somat, she is responsible for overseeing geotechnical services for both public and private design projects. Her extensive experience in civil engineering and geotechnical, includes construction monitoring, field inspection, reporting, geotechnical investigation, preparation of soil and rock logs, geotechnical reports and QA/QC. As a LEED Accredited Professional, Ms. Abadir will lead the firm’s efforts in integrating a comprehensive “Green Building” approach into all aspects of project design and promote an understanding of the life cycle costs and benefits of LEED.
