Somat Engineering, Inc. is pleased to announce that Jagdish Patel is joining our engineering team. Mr. Patel joins the firm as a Senior Project Coordinator. Mr. Patel has worked for the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for 21 years and has eight years in the consulting engineering industry. He also has a wide range of experience in regulatory compliance and enforcement related activities for municipal and industrial facilities. He has assisted clients in obtaining financial assistance through State Revolving Loan funds for Drinking Water as well as Wastewater related projects. His experience delivers cost-effective solutions for municipal facilities by troubleshooting wastewater treatment plant’s operations, and/or resolving issues related to National Pollutants Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits and has succeeded in assisting qualified facilities in obtaining financial assistance for abatement of their challenging problems. Additionally, his experience includes research and the identification of other sources of financial assistance through the U.S. Department of Energy, Michigan Public Services Commission, community block grants, as well as the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Mr. Patel has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. His expertise will enhance the firm’s engineering and business development capabilities for providing civil and environmental engineering related services in the areas of water and wastewater, financial assistance, environmental due diligence, brownfield redevelopment, storage tank management, remediation and environmental impact studies, as well as MDEQ and federal regulatory requirements.
